Title: Can dermarolling make stretch marks worse?
Post by: stretchmarksbegone on May 14, 2011, 05:39:05 PM
Hi, I was just wondering if it is possible to make deep stretch marks worse by rolling? I have done 2 sessions (approx 4 weeks apart) with 1.5mm needles on one very deep stretch mark on my tummy. It looks more red than it was before and it seems "swollen" even though I rolled approx 2 weeks ago. Is this normal? Is this part of the healing process and will it stop looking so angry and red? I did lots of shallow pricks and some produced pinprick blood spots, others did not.

It is normal that stretchmarks look red and swollen after rolling.

Redness or other changes are an ordinary part of the healing process and it will subside. It can take from several days to several weeks. The longest healing time required is usually after single needling.
