I was wondering if anyone knows where to get hold of injectable saline and needles in the UK?

Look for STERILE (bacteriostatic is even better) saline solution (0.9%). Do not buy one big bottle but many small ones that you discard once opened. Keep it in the fridge. For example this:

You can buy diabetic needles in the pharmacy.  Buy the smallest gauge.
