Dermarolling / Microneedling / Single needle advice
« on: July 05, 2012, 08:45:16 AM »
hey everyone

just need a bit of advice for using single needles on stretch marks, i'm getting a bit of bruising, am i pricking too deep? do i just need to prick over each stretch mark a few times without really going deep as it's been quite painful (more than rollng with a 1.5mm) so i assume i'm not doing something right?

I think so, just wash it off before you roll (it's an anesthetic I think...)

Thanks Sarah, your advice is always very helpful.

Is there any way to tell if needling has stopped working with stretch marks, for example I roll for the next 2 years and single needle once a month, would improvements be shown each time or can marks only be improved to a certain extent, therefore making later rolls ineffective?

Rolling, I'd say once every 5-6 weeks (Got to give your skin time to heal etc.)

Single needles, prick each mark once a month ~ You can do say arms one week and wherever else another week.

Vit C and Infadolan ~ I personally use twice a week. (Don't apply both on the same day though, and don't apply vit C after rolling, it'll probably hurt quite a bit.)

Hi

Thinking of maybe switching from a 1.5mm to 2.0mm to treat my stretch marks, is this advisable as I've only just started rolling.

With a 2.0mm would the results come quicker or does it not make much difference? (I was wondering if clinics use the 2.0mm ones hence why they only seem to recommend 3 to 5 treatments)

I'm not sure it does.  Better to follow Sarah's advice though.

Good luck (I too am treating white stretch marks)

Thank you. :)

I'm using vit C twice a week and the Infadolan everyday for now, think I'll use some more tonight and then just use once or twice a week.   I'll try the ice trick next time I think, especially around my legs.

Going to order some single needles soon and I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing some results .

Hey everyone

So I did my first roll today (I'm treating stretch marks by the way), it tickled in some parts and hurt in others, my arms were fine (got a little blood) my legs I didn't get very far with, it hurt (a lot) sides of my stomach hurt but I could deal.

Some parts feel like sunburn, I'm not sure I went hard enough in the parts that don't (they do however look red)

All in all not as scary as I thought it would be, I used the Infadolan afterwards and plan to use twice a day (morning and night) my only question is could I use cocca butter as I normally would, or is it best to leave it for a few days?

Thank you so much for the advice. :D

Ok thanks, I guess it's ok to use without sterilisation beforehand then?

Another question, does the roller become un-sterile after the shelf life has expired (on the leaflet in the box it said about the shelf life being 6 months from sterilisation date)

28
Hey everyone

So I've just got my DR Roller in the mail, do I need to sterilise it before using it for the first time or is it safe to not?

Many thanks

I've ordered my 1,5mm roller, I'll be sure to let you know how I get on when I've rolled.

Going to get a one liner too, thought I'd see how I went with this first. :)

Some of my SM's are small anyway so for those the 1.5mm would probably do the trick, the one liner for the ones on my legs and the sides of my stomach and perhaps arms.

Well for white stretch marks you'll need at least 1.5mm, use it once a month (there about's)

Sarah has given me heaps of good advice.
