Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: microneedling on a budget
« on: August 13, 2013, 06:22:27 AM »
If you have the ice pick type of acne scars, you can target them more precisely with the single needle.

On the photos that you posted, I can only see boxcar acne scars and for that a 1.5 mm dermaroller and a 1.5 mm dermastamp (2 mm dermastamp for very deep scars) is the best combo. A dermastamp alone will also do.

In your case, buy a 1.5 mm dermastamp.

Thank you for writing about your experience, Truvision.

Buy our 1.5 mm dermastamp with 35 needles ($15,-). Stamp densely (about every four weeks) the scars of one cheek. When it heals, stamp the other cheek.

You have to disinfect the dermastamp after each session so buying our Chloramine-T is a good idea.

The skin should be disinfected with Betadine liquid, for sale in pharmacies.

If you do not have the rolling type of acne scars, do not buy the suction pump.

If you really have ice pick acne scars, buy also the single needles.

A 1.5 mm dermaroller is also helpful for scars but if you are on a budget, you can go without a dermaroller. Buy just the dermastamp.

Our vitamin creams and serums help forming ideal conditions in the skin for collagen production but they are not absolutely indispensable. You will get results without them as well.

1. So then after I stamp my scars, I only use the dermaroller on my scars and not my entire face?

Yes, only on the area of scars and pigmentations/spots. Your skin elsewhere does not need dermarolling. Concentrate on your scars.

2. Since my natural face wash contains some tea tree oil, would it be bad if I washed my face with it the next morning after my treatment?

Yes, you can wash your face with it the morning after.

3. What about makeup? Is it safe to apply the next day if my makeup contains 2% salicylic acid?

It depends how "raw" the skin is the day after. Stamping the skin will usually result in relatively "raw" skin for a day or two (do a small test patch first to see how your skin reacts). If you do not have to, do not apply make up at least the day after.

4. What would you recommend I use to disinfect my face right before I start stamping and rolling?

Betadine liquid. For sale in pharmacies.

If you get no significant results in about eight months, add our suction pump. It looks like some of your largest scar may be tethered.

You can also try inducing intensive peeling by applying the A-Ret cream right after dermarolling (it stings and it irritates the skin). Do a test patch first to see how your skin reacts.

You can read about it in this forum thread (reply 25 from Cesamaddictaol and my reply 26):

Thank you for your praise!

Due to your urticaria pigmentosa, you should not risk the regular dermarolling of your entire face, you should spot-treat just the wrinkles and the stretch marks with a dermastamp and/or the single needles and each time, treat only a small area (at least until you know that mcironeedling is OK for you).

Dermarolling and any other type of mcironeedling (stamping, needling with the single needle) triggers short lasting inflammation and that could theoretically worsen your urticaria pigmentosa.

For stretch marks, buy a 1.5 mm dermastamp with 35 needles and a Tretinoin cream. Follow more or less the routine that is described in this forum thread but without dermarolling and without vit. C:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/Stretch-Marks-individual-needling

Tretinoin is acidic and it could theoretically also trigger urticaria pigmentosa flares so try it on a small area first.

In your case, ignore our instructions about dry brushing or exfoliating with fine salt. Any kind of skin irritation should be avoided.

Regarding wrinkles, the size guide is here (choose a dermastamp and the single needles only):

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Needling thin white scar on forehead
« on: August 12, 2013, 08:39:55 AM »
Yes, microneedling is suitable in your case and you can start now. I suggest trying our single needles (it is a set of five single needles that are 1.8 mm long). You do not have to insert the full length of the needles. Inserting 1 mm is enough. Needle the scar every 2 weeks. If it stays red for more than a few days after needling, needle only every three weeks.

Needling will likely soften the scar texture and make it less visible. You do not have to pre-treat the skin, in your case.

Some of our dispatch people are on holiday so we had to close our store until it opens again on August 23.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Nizoral

What should be avoided is applying very strong anti-inflammatories right after dermarolling. Some hours later or a day later is already OK.

1. Is it safe to use a .2 mm dermaroller on an area of the face, e.g., near the cheek, where a biopsied, benign mole was removed by a dermatologist employing the shave method two (2) months after removal and one (1) month after the wound fully closed?

It is definitely safe.

If you are left with a scar after the mole removal, buy a 1 mm dermastamp and stamp the scar every 10 to 14 days.

2. Is it proper to apply skin care products, e.g., toner, eye cream, serum and moisturizer, after such rolling with a .2 mm dermaroller, or before?

The skin care products can be applied right before rolling or applied right after rolling. Both will very significantly enhance the absorption of the products into the skin.

However, applying the products before rolling and rolling them in will make the needles dirty from the creams and you must remove it from the needles after each session. For practical purposes, it is easier to apply products after dermarolling.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Best options for my stretch marks
« on: August 11, 2013, 06:24:04 PM »
Buy a regular 1.5 mm dermaroller and a 1.5 mm dermastamp with 35 needles and a Tretinoin cream. Follow more or less the routine that is described here:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/Stretch-Marks-individual-needling

We cannot ship Tretinoin cream to England so you will have to buy it somewhere else.

We are working very hard on designing an electric dermastamp that is suitable for microneedling. You will be able to buy it in our store in the future. Most of electric microneedling devices that are currently on the market are not suitable for skin microneedling.

Manual stamping will do the same job as "electric stamping". Manual stamping is just more laborious and time consuming.

147
Sorry for the delayed answer!

You should definitely add a 1.5 mm dermastamp to your 1.5 mm dermarolling sessions. During the same session, first stamp the scars, and then roll the area with the scars. Use it on your "pen scar" as well.

You do not have to treat both cheeks at the same time. Treat thoroughly one cheek, when it heals treat the other.

You could try our Tretinoin cream for your hyperpigmentation marks.

1. Since Infadolan is oily and contains vitamin A, should I stay away from it since I have acne prone
skin and my skin vitamin contains vit A already? If it's okay, should I only apply very little and use it on that day of the process only?

If you are acne prone, keep the treated area moisturized with something that you know from your experience does not break you out.

2. Should I avoid using my clindamycin/Benz per. Gel on the days I use vit. C?

Apply benzoyl peroxide in the morning but preferably not in the evening of vit. C application (vit. C should be applied in the evening). Vit. C application three times a week is sufficient.

Do not apply bezoyl peroxide in the evening of your needling day and preferably not the day after either.

3. Is it safe to wash my face with my all natural face wash right before dermarolling?

You can but it is not a replacement for disinfection.

4. When is it safe to exfoliate and/or mask my skin, since I will be dermarolling once a month?

If the skin is still red, swollen, tender or dry from microneedling, do not exfoliate. If you get scabs after stamping, do not exfoliate until the scabs fall off naturally by themselves.

5. What if the vitamin c makes my skin breakout? What should I do or use instead?

If it caused any problems then make it less concentrated: Dilute it with more water.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Micro needling and lips Yes or no?
« on: August 11, 2013, 05:42:04 PM »
You can use dermaroller or a dermastamp on the lips but not our single needle because the single needle is 1.8 mm long and that is too deep for the lips. The skin on the lips is thin.

1 mm length needle length is a maximum size for the lips. Preferably, start with an even shorter size. We sell size 0.5 mm and 0.75 mm dermarollers.

Do not roll on the lips if you frequently suffer from cold sores.

For the wrinkles above and below the lips (the so-called smoker's lines), use a 1.5 mm dermastamp.

149
(As I have mentioned many times before) some of my winkles responded almost miraculously to dermaneedling (the lines in between the eyebrows -the so called 11 'and the lines above the lips) and some almost not at all (crow's feet). Which wrinkles and lines do respond and which do not is individual.

The one-liner roller is not suitable for the nose crease. Keep on using the dermastamp and you could try the suction pump that we sell because the crease may be tethered to the underlying structures.

No, I do not think adding short needled dermaneedling in between your 1.5 mm sessions will help the crease.

In some cases, the scar or the line becomes shallower after needling but also wider because the wall collapses. Most commonly this happens with ice pick acne scars. If you continue needling, it will fill in.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: red marks after acne
« on: August 07, 2013, 10:57:22 AM »
Concerning post acne spots, Tretinoin cream is really very helpful. You can see how it goes. You may get satisfactory results just from dermarolling and stamping. If you do not, buy Tretinoin cream.

If you stamp with a 1 mm size, quit about 2 weeks prior to your backpacking holidays. Quit rolling with your 0.5 mm roller one week prior to your holiday.
