No side effects but a scar that is immature can still improve by itself.  The scar should be healed before you stamp it – let it heal for 8 weeks after an injury, surgery etc.

You can use Betadine on large areas but wipe it off (or at least most of it) before rolling - do not roll it into the skin.  Betadine is used over large areas before surgery without any problems. Do not use Betadine if pregnant or breastfeeding.

   

  70 percent ethanol can be used on the skin but it will temporarily dry the skin out a little.

   

  Denatured alcohol is ethanol that has additives to make it unsuitable for drinking. One of the common additives to make ethanol undrinkable is adding methanol or isopropyl. This is suitable for skin- or dermaroller disinfection.

   

  Nevertheless, not all denatured alcohols are suitable for skin disinfection or even for dermaroller disinfection. Do not use ethanol that contains gasoline, kerosene and other very harsh substances.

Alternatively, you could use our recently added product Chloramine-T (a 0.5% solution) for skin disinfection but be advised that this leaves a chlorine smell on your skin for half an hour or so.

You should first wash the skin with soap (take a bath or shower), therefore 0.5% will do, with Chloramine-T.

Yes the self tan may have caused it. Not by sinking in but the skin that is not completely healed takes up the self tan more than the uncompromised skin. It will go away.

  There is no problem rolling on the self tanned skin. However it will speed up the diminishing of the tan because dermarolling speeds up the turnover of the skin.

Unless you've been stamping something very much harder than your skin, those needles can't possibly have bent.

If you hold the dermastamp in front of you eye, with the needles going vertical, not pointed at you, and then rotate the stamp around its longitudinal axis, you will easily be able to spot any bent needles.

Yes, you can use a dermarolller over the red capillaries, the skin will get

temporarily more red after dermarolling but it will quickly subside. I do

not think you will need a numbing cream. It will be painful but bearable.

You may need a numbing cream in the area above the lips, since from my

experience this is the most painful area from the whole face and body to

roll.

Yes, you can use a dermaroller on your arms. A dermaroller can be used

anywhere on the skin with the exception of the upper eyelids (danger of eye

injury). Our customers are getting excellent results rolling their sun

damaged décolleté for example. You can use your 1 mm dermaroller on your

arms.

Hi Soon,

Just to make it clear - the sterilizing powder (Chloramine-T) is intended to sterilize the microneedling instruments. You can use it to sterilize the skin but it leaves a bad chlorine smell so I wouldn't use it for that purpose. Wash it off before you roll.

I agree that it sucks and it is extremely frustrating to us as well because we used to have many customers from the Philippines and Malaysia (millions of beautiful women live there that want to be even more beautiful) but especially white powders such as vit. C are often confiscated for no reason in countries with the death penalty on importing narcotics. Really - whatever we send - if often does not arrive to Malaysia, sorry.

And our web store just doesn't allow exceptions. We can add an extra fee for certain countries only - not for individual products.

As soon as the postal system in the EU country we dispatch from offers cheap tracking/insurance, we will waive the 30 dollar surcharge for "problem countries".

It is not OK to recommend competing products here, for obvious reasons. This is a forum for us to answer customer's questions, not a general forum.

I spend hours every day answering questions here and by email (because often, I have to do research in medical literature that sometimes even involves purchasing the article because scientific studies are not freely available nowadays any more), so we won't allow competitors advertizing their wares here, whether it is directly ("spam") or indirectly.

However - I can recommend a competing dermaroller: The Dr. Roller brand is really OK. We tested them and there is nothing at all wrong with them. We think they are totally overpriced though.

All other rollers are either not OK, or they are extremely much overpriced. Our roller has by far the best price/quality ratio though.

Again, this forum is intended for me to answer customers' questions. This way, we keep it like a "database with frequently asked questions" instead of the typical forums full of idle chatter, spam etc.

We are that strict because we want people to discuss/promote the tens of thousands of questionable skin creams and miracle lotions somewhere else. This forum is for microneedling only, and for our customers only.

We have received countless question about where to buy the proper disinfection alcohol, and we are finally selling something that disinfects better than alcohol: Chloramine T.

If you want immediate disinfection, you use a 2% solution. If you soak the roller all night, 1% or even as little as 0.5% will do. We sell 20 grams for 4 dollars, enough for 1 litre of 2% solution, 2 litres of 1% solution or 4 litres of 0.5% solution:

Since it is so concentrated and you dilute it yourself, the shipment cost is nothing, if you add it to an order. Our Chloramine is both cheaper and disinfects more thorough and faster than any alcohol-based solution out there.

It is quite common to have hyperpigmentation that lasts weeks after a dense and deep single needling. To have a dermarolling pattern that is still there 14 days after dermarolling is not common at all but it is possible in sensitive skin. It will go away.

Did you perform the test patch on a small skin area as we recommend in our instructions?  Did it heal well? Are you prone to hyerpigmentation?

  Dermarolling never leaves permanent hyperpigmentation. You can get long lasting hyperpigmentaion if you expose the needled areas to the sun soon after needling and without any protection. The pigmentation disappears but it can take a long time.

The number of needles is quite irrelevant, but larger number of needles such as 540 make it impossible to use relatively expensive, "real" needles so rollers that don't use real needles because they want to have a gimmicky 540 "needles" are not recommended.

A dermastamp works very well on burn scars but your scars are very likely not yet mature – it means they are still in the healing process. A dermastamp softens the scar by crushing the hardened collagen fibrotic tissue but your scars are flat and it seems that it is just a pigmentation problem - fortunately you do not have scar tissue.

   

  Hydroquinone cannot prevent scar formation, it can only reduce pigmentation (and only the pigmentation caused by melanin overproduction).

  Vit. C is a mild inhibitor of melanin and it is an anti-inflammatory. Right after the application of vit. C, the scars will get temporarily more red.  Apply the vit. C every second day.

   

  Retin A should also help diminishing the pigmentation of your scars because it speeds up the turnover of the skin. The scars will also get temporarily more red after its application.

   

  A dermastamp will also greatly speed up the turnover of the skin but you should first try it on a less visible place (not on the forehead). Stamp the scar about eight times during your session. Stamp it every three weeks (stick the dermastamp into each scar eight times every three weeks. Apply the A-Ret into the scar right after stamping. I do not recommend applying the A-Ret right after dermarolling but in case of scars, I do.

If you get good results with the dermastamp, use it on your forehead too.

Having no wrinkles in one's thirties is quite rare, you are lucky.

I would recommend you to buy a 1 mm dermaroller (it reaches the dermis) and use it every two weeks on the same skin area. The A-Ret gel and vit. C would be also very useful in your case. Since you have red veins and sensitive skin, you should avoid skin irritation, therefore do not apply the A-Ret gel more than twice a week (a pea-sized amount is enough for a whole face) and vit. C three times a week.

Infadolan is good especially for dry, crepey skin.

  You use a 1.5 mm dermaroller once (one day not three) in three or four weeks. The days prior to rolling with a 1.5 mm, apply vit. C for three consecutive days. Do not apply any vit. C after rolling with a 1.5 mm roller – apply only Infadolan.
