It is unrealistic to expect results after just one session or very soon after a session. Collagen production takes a long time and repeated dermarolling or needling is necessary.

Even acne scars do not respond in most cases after one session. Some of our customers got significant results only after a year and a half of dermarolling.

Concerning your scars, the tissue of the nose is quite special because there is cartilage underneath. Your deep scars actually look like there is not only skin missing but the underlying structures (cartilage) is also affected / reseeded.  A dermaroller cannot affect anything else than the skin itself.

There is a good chance that your scars will respond to dermarolling but it will take a long time and the results will not be like you're hoping for I'm afraid.

My honest answer is that the position and depth of your scar requires a consultation with a plastic surgeon. Maybe they can use a filler of some kind, such as cartilage taken from another part of your body.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Infadolan after microdermabrasion?
« on: April 15, 2011, 12:24:53 PM »
Infadolan is very suitable for skin healing, regeneration and protection. Especially after "aggressive" or invasive treatments such as dermarolling with long needles, deeper peelings, after Fraxel laser treatment, first degree burns etc.

Microdermabrasion is not a very aggressive treatment so a less oily product would be sufficient but if you do not mind that its consistency is quite oily then it is a good idea to use it.

We even have customers who use Infadolan daily as an aftershave on their face and they are happy with it.

Many customers use it daily around their eyes for intensive moisturizing.

Apply just a little Infadolan. No need for heavy application.

If you want to use something less heavy but still soothing and suitable, use almond oil.

Pour some almond oil on a tap water wetted cotton pad and spread it on your face.

Use Infadolan on the skin after intensive treatments or daily around your eyes and on back of your hands.

I am not completely sure whether your spots are due to oxidation however I am aware of vit. C's sensitivity to oxidation. That is why I wrote in our instructions:

“Apply vit. C preferably in the evening since it is sensitive to sunlight”

It is also in our instructions concerning A-Ret:

“Since Tretinoin is sun sensitive, apply before bedtime and use a high factor sun screen over the next days”

Other recommendation concerning vit. C in our instructions:

- A sealable container. It really must be possible to close it off air-tight because vitamin C oxidizes easily. It is degraded by air, light and heat. That’s why you should keep it in the fridge where it is cold and totally dark, except when you open the door, which is of no consequence. We sell small brown glass flasks, perfect to keep vit. C serum fresh.

- Prepare small quantities of vit. C serum at a time, to ensure it is always fresh and un-oxidized. You should make a new batch approximately once every 20 days.

Vit. C crystals themselves are nowhere near as prone to oxidation as the aqueous solution.

Vit. C serum should not be applied right before sun exposure and the best is to apply it in the evening. I will make it even more clear in our instructions.

You can try to leave vit. C serum in a transparent, open glass to see how many days it will take for it to become yellow (oxidized).

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Question about food and supplements
« on: April 13, 2011, 06:17:26 PM »
Oral vit. C is useful because our body can't synthesize vit. C. But do not take more than 500 mg a day since it could cause kidney stones in some individuals.

If you take more than a few grams/day, your body will "get used" to it and then you'll develop scurvy when you discontinue the mega-dose regimen.

It is important to eat healthy food. There is no miraculous supplement that can make your skin beautiful if you otherwise eat garbage and lack minerals or vitamins.

To support the results of dermarolling, you should not be deficient in zinc or any other mineral, vitamin or trace element.

Unfortunately, our food is grown in depleted soils nowadays - that includes industrial green houses.

You could take a multimineral + trace elements and multivitamin, especially in winter or in periods of stress (including pregnancy and illness).

There are some studies that zinc would help with healing, especially inflamed injuries. because Zinc is an anti-inflammatory:

https://http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2275309

Zinc is not suitable for all injuries because it can irritate.

When applied externally, it is an astringent with a skin drying effect, which makes it useful in prevention of baby diaper rash and other condition when skin drying is beneficial. It is certainly not suitable to apply immediately after dermarolling. The skin must be maximally moisturized right after dermarolling.

The most beneficial form of Zinc for the skin is as zinc oxide in sunscreens:

Dermarolling / Microneedling / When to stop dermarolling?
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:50:22 PM »
No, you do not have to stop. Continue. If you want to take a break from dermarolling, it's OK but it is not necessary in this case.

I recommend having a break after very intensive repeated treatments with the single needle for example but in your case, there is no need.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Best Skin Care Routine
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:15:19 PM »
You do not have to brush the face. It is a way of exfoliation and a good pre-treatment prior to rolling for scars and especially stretch marks but rolling the face with a 0.25 mm dermaroller already exfoliates the skin very well. No need for brushing.

You can use a 0.25 mm dermaroller every second day.  Using it three times a week is totally sufficient. Instead of a 0.5 mm dermaroller in the routine above, use the 0.25 mm roller.

You can also apply vit. C, wait half an hour for it to be absorbed and then you'll roll with a 0.25 mm and apply a cream of your choice to enhance its penetration.

You do not have to use copper peptides and A-Ret and vit C and Infadolan. You can use some of it in combination with an anti aging cream or whatever cream you like. I wanted to show how you can combine our products but it doesn't mean you have to use all of them. As I said, young, acne-free facial skin does not need A-Ret.  A-Ret should be used on stretch marks though, even when you are young.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / unbranded lidocane?
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:24:47 AM »
Yes. We are looking into these problems (also with our A-Ret). I think we need to partner with someone in India to get a reliable, cheap supply of pharmacy-purchased creams.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Question about food and supplements
« on: April 11, 2011, 07:33:20 PM »
I will answer your question tomorrow.

You should reinstall Windows or the police may be knocking on your door soon. SPAM is a criminal offence with a max. penalty of 7 year in jail in many US states nowadays. I'm not sure of Puerto Rico. Forum SPAM is still mostly legal though, but the virus also spams to email addresses, which is a criminal offence.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Question about food and supplements
« on: April 11, 2011, 07:03:04 PM »
Dear Jeff,

The reason I deleted your post is because you are (still) posting from a Puerto Rico SPAM IP address:

xxx.28.52.1

https://http://www.google.com/search?q=xxx.28.52.1

Please note how search result #1 lists your IP address as an open mail server used for comment spamming. The biggest red flag possible - it doesn't get any more spammy than that. Several complaints have been lodged against your IP address for forum SPAM.

And please look here:

https://http://www.reputationauthority.org/lookup.php?ip=xxx.28.52.1

Your IP has a 93% SPAM rating and is in several blacklists. The reputation of your IP address is as bad as it can be. 100% "bad". Almost off-the-scale bad.

Because there was a near-immediate reply to your posting with a glorious review for a competing product (against our forum rules), we assumed both posts were by a spammer because this is how spammers work nowadays, otherwise it would be too obvious. Newbie #1 comes with a seemingly innocuous question, newbie #2 posts a 5-star review of some spammed-to-high-heaven overpriced product, and both are the same person hiding behind a notorious SPAM proxy (Jeff/Jeff2) and another semi public place such as a university or internet cafe, as the person with the positive review posted from.

We may have made a mistake in your case though, sometimes real forum participants behave indistinguishable from spammers.

However the only possibility of you not being a spammer is that your computer has a virus that channels SPAM.

In that case you must take immediate action, as some SPAM can be links to child porn etc. and you could be held legally responsible for that. It would not be the first time people ended up in jail innocently due to a virus.

I am very sorry but when we suspect SPAM we react with extreme prejudice. In case of doubt we don't ask questions - we delete and ban and sort out the details later.

That's how we keep this forum nice and clean. Nearly all other forums are SPAM-infested - without most people even realizing it. Perhaps you have a reason why you're using a blacklisted-for-SPAM IP but any thread started by known and confirmed spammers will be deleted, especially if it contains links to dodgy competitors who appear to be paying for "link placement".

I can answer your question (instead of deleting you again) if you explain why your IP address is blacklisted on several lists for forum comment SPAM?

I do not think it is a good idea to apply sunless-tanning creams after dermarolling, not even with the shortest needles. It would get into the deeper layers of the skin and you might end up with uneven coloration that could be difficult to get rid off.

Dihydroxyacetone is a colorless sugar that reacts with certain amino acids in the stratum corneum and tinted skin is a result of this reaction. Sunless tanning creams teint the outermost skin layer which is constantly being renewed.

Since various amino acids react differently to Dihydroxyacetone, I am not sure what kind of teint you would get in deeper skin layers. It could turn out yellow or orange.

A dermaroller makes tiny channels in the skin with intact skin in between. I do not think the Dihydroxyacetone would be distributed totally evenly into deeper skin layers.

Basically you are risking uneven, unpredictable tone coloration that could last too long for comfort..

OCEAN tanning solutionand other self-tanning products contain Dihydroxyacetone.

It makes the dead skin cells on the skin surface turn brown. It does not penetrate below the stratum corneum, which is the outermost layer of the skin. The cells in the stratum corneum are constantly being naturally sloughed off/exfoliated and replaced by new ones.  That is why a self-tan fades gradually within twenty days. Anything that speeds up the turnover of of the skin ( such as exfoliation, dermarolling, peeling etc)  will also speed up fading of a self-tan.

You shouldn't spray three days before and three days after dermarolling (five days if you are single needling). Otherwise you might end up with an uneven teint.

A 1.5 mm dermaroller is used only once every 3-4 weeks on the same skin area, so hopefully you can somehow combine it with a small self tanning gap.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Rolling only for product absorption ~
« on: April 04, 2011, 02:28:56 PM »
A 0.25 mm dermaroller is suitable to enhance the penetration of skin products and you can use it every second day. You can use it both on your face and on the rest of the body.

The needles have to reach the dermis in order to induce collagen, so dermarollers for skin care product penetration enhancement are too short. They do however improve many skin conditions by speeding up the skin's turnover. We have a customer who used a 0.25 mm dermaroller for her pigmentation (she was scared of longer needles). She had pigmentation on her forehead and the pigmentation stretched a bit onto her scalp. She rolled her face only, not her scalp. After about 6 months, the pigmentation on her face had disappeared but the pigmentation on the scalp (which hadn't been rolled) was still there. She used rosehip oil after dermarolling.

Alternatively you can use a 0.5 mm dermaroller, twice a week on your face and three times a week on your body. Its needles penetrate about 0.3 mm into the skin.  Skin thickness varies around the body but in many cases 0.3 mm is able to reach the top of the dermis.

Do not forget that dermarollers significantly enhance product penetration. Acidic products such as Retin A (Retinoic acid) will sting if you apply them right after dermarolling so it is better not to apply them immediately after rolling.

It got sold out. It is so difficult to import numbing cream that even the Chinese stopped doing it. Codex Alimentarius..

Everything gets confiscated by customs to prevent the import of cheap generic products. Even 750 tubes of A-Ret were confiscated as we tried importing them into the EU.
