Oops - forgot to say whether Iodine can be used to disinfect the roller.

No - it will corrode the needles:

Chloramine-T is very easily available in New Zealand because we ship to NZ customers :-)

NZD 5 for the Chloramine-T and NZD 2.5 for shipping. Likely, this is a cheaper solution than a locally bought alternative. Very effective as well, that's why we sell it. Since it is a powder, it can be sent in a small envelope, and you dissolve it into water. You can make more than a gallon of disinfecting solution on a par, or better than any other chemical disinfection method available.

I'm sorry but this is a forum to support our own products only, not to suggest alternatives sold by competing vendors. However, when you search this forum, alternatives are mentioned regularly, or perhaps someone in NZ has a suggestion for you, if you're in a rush to get started.

A dermastamp is an excellent choice in your case and a 1.5 mm size should improve your scars if you have patience to stamp for many months.

If you get no improvement, try a 2 mm dermastamp. Your scars do not seem to be really deep but it is necessary to try different approaches.

I think the best way is not to stamp all your scars in one sessions but to stamp very densely several scars whenever you have time. Each time you stamp different scars.

Each scar should be stamped only once in three weeks but very thoroughly and densely.

If you get no results, add the suction method:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/subcision-suction-method-for-acne-scars/

The suction method works best on rolling type of scars (which you do not have) but it is worth trying on any stubborn scars.

In a few weeks we should have a suction device in stock.

I do recommend dermastamping before getting filler treatment but not very shortly prior to the treatment because stamping will renew deep layers of skin and this renewal could speed up the elimination of the filler.

Wait at least one week.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Shelf life of Vitamin C
« on: August 25, 2012, 06:09:17 AM »
The shelf life of vit. C crystals is three years but in reality they will keep even longer.

Vit. C becomes unstable in a watery solution and that is why the vit. C serum has to be made fresh frequently, whereas the crystals themselves are stable.

You should keep them cool, dry, dark, and in a closed container (close the ziplock bag).

>1)

I don´t have time for dry brushing and s o. My plan is:
>- applying 2 nights the vitamin C serum before rolling
>- shower, disinfect and apply numbing cream to the area
>- disinfect and rolling
>- after rolling I apply Infadolan (maybe the next 2 days also)
>- then I wait 1 month and do the same process again (1,5 mm)
>Is this treatment ok?

Yes, it is OK. I do not think you will necessarily need a numbing cream. Some areas are more painful to roll but rolling on the body is usually bearable without a numbing cream.

>2) I wonder, if I can put my clothes on right after the rolling? I think there is maybe a risk of
>an infection or does the Infadolan cover the skin?

You can put your clothes on right after dermarolling but preferably freshly washed clothes, especially if you roll with long needles.

>3) When can I expose the needled skin to sunlight again? How long does it take to heal before
>going to swim and doing sports again?

If you can, avoid the sun for a couple of days after dermarolling (cover it with clothes when you go outside). Use a sunscreen if the rolled skin is exposed to the sun ( for about five days and even longer after an aggressive single needling.
If you rolled the face, use a sunscreen for at least a week.

Sports:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/not-advisable-do-sports-after-dermarolling

>4) Could I do the single needling on a scar, that is directly on the lips?

Yes, but carefully and gently. No aggressive needling. This area will be very painful to needle. You may need a numbing cream.

>5) Should I really use dishwashing liquid to clean the roller? I have worries that there could >be some liquid left next time I roll.
>6) Do I have to disinfect the roller before 1´st time or can I use it right out of the box?

Both the questions are answered here:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/Do-you-need-to-sterilise-before-first-use

>7) As I am male: Do I have to shave haired body areas before rolling?

No.

>And How long does the numbing cream and vitamin c stay fresh?

Vit.C:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/vitamin-c-how-long-do-the-crystals-last

The numbing cream will last many years, if unopened. If opened, it may slightly loses its efficacy.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: please advise, boxcar/rolling scars
« on: August 24, 2012, 06:08:48 PM »
You can use them both during the same session or you can roll the entire area and some days later (or as soon as you have time) stamp the scars.

789
From the study:

"In the beginning of suction period, elevated lesions were not

suctioned until they became flat. On the first days, we used less

negative pressure; but in the subsequent sessions, depending on

the condition of scars, we could increase negative pressure (even

to maximum: )70 mmHg), length of time (not more than 4 s in

each pass) and the number of suctioning passes (even 8–12 passes)

per session.
‘Effective suctioning caused oedema and haemorrhages

in the subcised scars and led to ELEVATION OF DEPRESSING SCARS

ABOVE THE SKIN SURFACE’ (Fig. 1f,g)."

"high grade of improvement was mostly in patients in group A1 who had almost daily suctioning in the first week of suctioning period"

I recommend to use a 1.5 mm dermastamp for your acne scars. If you have post acne spots/pigmentation, add rolling with a 0.5 mm regular dermaroller.

You certainly do not have to replace it every time. It can be easily disinfected.
How to disinfect is described in our instructions:

https://http://dermaroller.owndoc.com/dermaroller-instructions.pdf

Where to get the disinfectant:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/can39t-find-proper-disinfection-alcohol/

We also sell a disinfectant for microneedling instruments (Chloramine-T).

If you have the rolling type of acne scars, add the suction method:

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Dema Rolling and Facial Hair
« on: August 23, 2012, 05:32:11 PM »
No, a dermaroller will not damage your facial hair follicles.

I warned against rolling the scalp with this size because the hair follicles on the scalp are not very deep and in the process of getting bold, the follicles are weak and vulnerable so long needles could theoretically damage it but in practice, it likely doesn’t. Short needles bring blood to the scalp follicles and promote their growth and in my opinion, they are safer to use in this area.

On the face, any size roller or dermastamp can be used and you do not have to worry about the follicles.

Suppressing inflammation is very useful with chronic inflammatory conditions or "ordinary" injuries. However it is not very helpful to suppress the short lasting, mild, controlled inflammation that occurs for an hour or two right after dermarolling because the inflammation triggers collagen production and other processes. In case of dermarolling, this short lasting, mild inflammation is desirable. Avoiding strong- anti-inflammatory substances only applies right after dermarolling. A day after or even some hours after dermarolling, you can already apply them.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Infadolan after chemical peels
« on: August 21, 2012, 06:27:02 AM »
Yes, Infadolan is very suitable for the aftercare after invasive methods (even mild ones). Several of our customers used it after their laser resurfacing procedure and they were very happy. No need to use too much. It is an ointment, not a cream. Apply just a little to protect and moisturize the skin.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: desperate!! sagging skin after baby
« on: August 19, 2012, 06:39:30 PM »
I understand your distress but there is actually nothing exceptionally bad about your post pregnancy abdomen. Many women end up with an abdomen like this or much worse.

From our experience, the best results for sagging skin is a combination of a short needled dermaroller (to speed up the turnover of the skin) and a long needled dermaroller ( to trigger collagen).

Start rolling your abdomen with a regular 1.5 mm dermaroller (roll very densely every three weeks) and a 0.5 mm dermaroller (roll up to three times a week).

If you are not breastfeeding or pregnant or planning the pregnancy, you can apply our Tretinoin cream to your stretchmarks right after dermarolling:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/Why-use-Tretinoin-for-stretch-marks

Keep the rolled skin moisturized (for example with almond oil or some other oil).

Most of your other questions are answered in our instructions: https://http://dermaroller.owndoc.com/dermaroller-instructions.pdf

Dermarolling can improve sagging skin but if you feel that your abdomen is significantly bulging, dermarolling cannot fix it.  Such a bulging abdomen after pregnancy is often due to the abdominal muscles not having gone fully back to their original position – this can only be fixed by a tummy tuck (exercise will not help either in this case).
