Author Topic: Need advice on stretchmarks and scars - and what is single needling?  (Read 7574 times)

I've read up on dermarolling for months now. I got a few creams suggested, and am waiting on the roller itself! I've read time and time how often, what to use, what to prepare, but I have a few questions and need extra affirmation and confirmation on what exactly to do.

I have deep stretch marks, light ones, and deep scars. Should I try on all of them or concentrate on a local area. i got the 1.5 roller... and is there different treamtents for scars and stretch marks.

What should I use to prepare before and after? Is once a month accurate?

What is single needling and should i do that too?

Thanks for all your help! ;)

The treatment of stretch marks and scars (except for acne scars) is the same. It is better to concentrate on a smaller area but do it thoroughly. Stretch marks usually respond to a 1.5 mm dermaroller but sometimes they need a combination of a 1.5 mm roller with more intensive and targeted treatment such as single needling or a 1.5 mm ONE LINE dermaroller and the A-Ret gel.

Our single needle is a custom made needle that is about 2 mm long, very strong and thus suitable for repeated needling, it has a long taper in order to facilitate insertion (the skin is very tough protective organ, it is not easy to penetrate it - not even with a sharp needle).

How to prepare the skin and how to do single needling is explained in our instructions:

Once a month if you do intensive, deep treatment such as single needling and once in three weeks if you do a regular 1.5 mm dermarolling.

Do you suggest doing the single needling as well? I started dermarolling but not sure If I'm  doing it right. What is the area supposed to look like after, how much pressure and should i be sore after? I feel as if i didnt do it hard enough im so sensitive!

Single needling is effective for stretch marks but it is laborious. If you have little time, needle just one or a few stretch marks a day.

Here is a photo of the skin right after dermarolling. The skin can get much more red than on this photo, depending where you roll, how deep and densely you roll, how thick your skin is, etc:
