Dermarolling / Microneedling / Vitamin C serum bottle troubleshooting
« on: July 11, 2013, 09:32:32 AM »
Well, this is a tad bit embarrassing but it appears my serum bottle lid has become mercilessly tight after cooling in the refrigerator. I think the substance has really stiffened the space between the lid and the bottle, creating friction when turned. Anyone have any home remedy suggestions? This is definitely no pickle jar case. I tried running it under hot water. I'll have to be careful with how much water I fill in next time.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Can a dermaroller cause more scars?
« on: April 01, 2013, 01:30:09 PM »

This also sometimes happens with needling ice pick scars. The scar basically collapses when you crush the hardened collagen and becomes shallower but wider due to the collapsed wall. It is just the first stage of improving it. Ice pick scars were more or less untreatable until dermarolling emerged on the scene and one cannot expect miracles, that it will be very easy to improve them..

So far, I think I can attest to this fact. Some relatively larger ice pick scars on my left cheek (particularly those I targeted more accurately with the 2.0mm derma stamp) have appeared to expand, but with a more shallow base. I wish I had before and after pictures to confirm it.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Nose Blackheads
« on: March 24, 2013, 10:15:56 PM »
 Hello Sarah,

I have read your warnings concerning micro-needling for the nose. I'm interested in taking a cautious approach by stamping one side of my nose with 0.5mm. It's basically the same problem as this individual here: https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/need-some-advice-please-on-scarredenlarged-nose-pores/msg2883/#msg2883. I'm not sure if that's a problem of ice pick scars, wide pores, and/or blackheads. I'm pretty sure I have recurring blackheads in these openings. I'm going to try your blackhead removal option, but I'm also wondering if derma-needling can be helpful to rid these blackheads in the process?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Derma needling under eye
« on: February 13, 2013, 11:07:36 AM »
 Hello Sarah,

I apologize if I miss this question in the search - I did try to search it and could not find the specific answer. I had heard from a blog that a user experienced worsening results using a needle above 0.2mm for under the eye - though he was recommending a specific product at the bottom of hsi page instead (injection fillers), so his credibility is questionable. I want to choose either a 0.2m or 0.5m derma stamp - not just for enhancing absorption of products, but to thicken the skin in that area. Therefore, would a 0.5mm needle be more optimal than a 0.2mm for my goals?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Derma needling routine questions
« on: February 09, 2013, 02:42:11 PM »
 Hello Dr. Vaughter,

I'm a new member and highly appreciate your diligence for derma needling research! I have a few questions related to the process:

 1. I have Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol as my antiseptic cleanser. Is this adequate for cleaning my dermaroller after sessions? If not, would tea tree oil work in place (I believe that works as an antiseptic as well)?

 2. I have purchased the copper peptide serum (Elions), but I am unsure where it would fit into my routine. I am purchasing vitamin C to apply to my face as recommended by the guide and the infalodin up to 14 days since the rolling session. Would the copper peptide serum be something to work in conjunction with the vitamin C on regular days, or should I apply it in addition to the infalodin?

 Thanks, those are my questions!
