Hi Sarah,
I'm a regular swimmer and wanted to start derma rolling. Is it safe to derma roll today and swim the the next day?
Thanks in advanced.
Cheers!

If you roll with long needles, such as 1.5 or 2 mm and you roll densely and push the needles deeply in, it would be safer not to swim the next day, especially if the water is not clean. There is a small risk of getting a skin infection. The risk is very low but I prefer to be on the safe side.
Swimming is OK in principle but the protective function of the skin is temporarily compromised shortly after dermarolling and that is why it is easier for bacteria to get into the skin. It is totally safe to shower but if you do not know the cleanliness of the water you swim in, you should be careful.

but the sweat (eg by jogging, bbuilding etc) the next day after dermarollercan cause problemso of infections?a few hours between the session of Dermaroller and sport is sufficient to avoid risk of infections?thank you

Sweat is dirty (it comes from deep inside the pores) but there is no risk of infection from your own sweat. You can do sports involving sweat right after dermarolling. Just keep the dermarolled area moisturized.
The reason why you can't get infected any more a few hours after dermarolling is that the skin already is "closed" (coagulated blood) and your immune system is more than capable to handle the bacteria from your own body, if they were to enter such a very superficial injury.
