Dermarolling / Microneedling / Topical Collagen and Derma Rolling?

Is there any evidence that topical collagen creams-lotions are effective either by themselves or in conjunction with derma rolling?  I've read that the collagen molecules are too large to be adsorbed through the skin .  I was wondering if "science" has conquered this barrier, or if a  cream containing collagen can somehow be made effective when used  immediately before or after derma rolling?
