Title: application of glycolic acid to needled scars
Post by: Inkii on July 27, 2012, 08:20:41 PM
Hi Sarah,

I was just wondering if it is safe to apply glycolic peels to needled skin which is several weeks old. For some reason I have a concern that the glycolic will abrade the good/regenerating skin. Can this happen? I have read that glycolic acid contributes to collagen formation and am wondering whether I am worrying unneccessarily. I would not want to undo any of the good work done by the needling and want to ask before adding it to my regime.

Kind regards,
Inkii

It is perfectly OK applying glycolic acid peel or anything else as soon as the skin is healed from needling, which takes normally just a few days. Post-needling hyperpigmentation may prevail for weeks in some cases but you can apply acid peels on post-needling hyperpigmentation.
