Dermarolling / Microneedling / Can I make Vitamin C serum out of tablets?
« on: September 03, 2013, 05:28:59 PM »
I bought some 1000mg Vitamin C ascorbic acid tablets for internal use, but the acid is too much for my stomach and I have to use a buffered form instead. Now I've been left with a whole bottle of pills and I thought maybe I can turn this into a serum instead of throwing them away. So I put one pill between wax paper and used a rolling pin to roll and pound into a fine powder.

I then boiled some water and put that into a small dark glass bottle with a dropper that I already had. I let that cool down a bit and then put in the Vit C powder and shook it up quite a bit. There are no white particles at all and it has a thick serum consistency. Will this work as well as your vitamin C powder? Was using hot water ok since it seems to dissolve particles easier than cold water or will this kill the beneficial ingredients in Vit C?

Also these pills have some added ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, silica gel and rose hip extract. Will these added ingredients interfere with the action of the Vit C?

Thanks for any help  :)

Sarah, I recently posted a link in another thread about a device that can be used to remove poison or used on scars to lift the tissue. The device sounds promising but it only comes as part of a kit with many other suction cups. I'm only interested in purchasing this device and one suction cup to go with it. Would you consider selling something like this?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Acne scar improvment photos
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:40:46 PM »
This is not my photos but I found them on a website where doctors post pictures to show how they improved acne scars with various methods. Most of the doctors used lasers or fillers, however this doctor used medical rolling to improve the scars. I thought the results were much better than many obtained by using lasers. It is also very encouraging to see this extent of scars so successfully treated.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Corn remover for collagen lumps?
« on: October 30, 2011, 10:12:32 PM »
I've been dermarolling and single needling with really good results. The only thing is sometimes I get these white round collagen lumps forming in the areas I worked on. They look almost like in the skin moles. I know they're not because of the fact that they're white and formed soon after the needling. I only have 3 small ones but I'd like to get rid of them. Needling doesn't seem to help. They are raised slightly too.

I was thinking if it would be safe to use one of those corn remover patches with 40% salicylic on top of them. Would that help them to dissolve? Alternately I could use the liquid corn remover but that's only 17% salicylic acid. Is this safe for the surrounding skin?
