Dermarolling / Microneedling / Best Wound Healing Method on Face - a Child
« on: September 01, 2011, 06:30:07 AM »
so so glad i listened to not pick at it or try to pick off the adhesive dressing

it fell off where the cut was. when i gently peeled it back, it was healed up! very nicely. a line scar, that will blend in very easily. will be barely noticeable.

so thank you sarah for your advice, it was causing me some anxiety thinnking it couldntheal up properly like that

do u think its ok to apply sunscreen onto it now. there is no scab left behind. its like it completely dissolved into the fxixomull.

Thank you sarah!

So you dont think that after 3 weeks, would impede its healing, due to fixomull still being on there?

i am hesitant to take it off, bcause I do feel that it could pull the scab off.

Also not sure how scab will naturally fall off, if fixomull is stuck to scab??

Hi there,

My 5 yr old son got a cut on his face, about three weeks ago.

Took him to the ER (looked quite deep and medical centre advised for him to to hospital)

Anyway, at the hospital, they looked at it, and used that superglue stuff to bond it together (said it wasn't deep enough for

stitches)

What is bothering me, is that they also applied this sticky adhesive gauze straight over it. Well, they told me that as it starts to peel, just snip off the side where its peeling.

Well, its only peeled a little bit, and i think there is a scab underneath as it feels slightly bumpy (but no pain or tenderness)

Is it best to leave this in place and let it fall off on its own, the sticky adhesive I think is called " Fixomull"??? It has been three weeks that its been on, but it does have little airation holes, that allows wound to breathe.

Do u think its best to take it off, or leave it on, till it naturally works its way off? I want to do whats best so he doesnt get a scar, or at least,a very minimal one, but i thoguht taking it off and allowing it to breathe would be the best way now after 3 wwks?? Becoz its on the face, I think the gauze is helping to keep the scab on, as if it comes off, methinks he will rub scab off.

I also was thinking that down the track, if it does scar, maybe the dermaroller would be good?

Thanks

Hi Sarah

thank you so much for providing this website, and the great prices you offer here on your products. The best prices so far for the quality that you get !

Why, IHYO, do you think different areas of the face respond differently? Such as, for example, why do u think your eye area didnt respond as well???

I ahve been wanting to dermaroll/stamp for over 2 years, but was too scared of how my skin would react bcoz of sensitive facial skin.

Do you think, IYHO, that my cheeks would respond in the same way, as my temples, If i use the exact same rolling as I did on temples? or could the cheek area, in general, be more sensitive, and ttake longer to heal, in most ppl???

Again, thanks so much. Its great to find a website that offers quality products at such affordable prices!!

Dermarolling / Microneedling / 8 month update
« on: August 27, 2011, 12:03:50 AM »
hi anna

why do you prefer the dermarolling over needling??  better results??

needling allows more specific targeting.

So I think I have already gotten improvements with dermarolling after my first attempt, unless this is still swelling, which I hope not

Can you still have swelling after 4 weeks? doesnt seem to be

Anyway, I did a trial dermastamp. I purchased the dermastamp rather than roller. I figure from everything i have read, it is safer, and less chance of tearing the skin, as its stamping motion, rather than rolling.

So a month ago,I stamped just my temples. Wanted to see how my facial skin reacted, as I do have sensitive skin

I have decided against using any numbing cream. the dermastamp i used is 0.75mm

It stung; kind of like a grazed burning sensation. but thats okay, as for me, its just a short period of pain. There was very little redness, and i immediately applied my professional terproline cream, that lamarr recommends on another board.

I have seen an improvement on one of my temples already. It is much shallower the scarring there, the other temple, not as much improvemnt, but just a small improvement.

I have a question tho....

do u think different areas of the face react differently? such as do you think the cheeks would react/heal different to the temples, or forehead|???

I am pretty impressed with my first attempt

i did up my vitamin c intake a few weeks before attempting dermastamp tho

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Confused about your Single Needle items
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:36:16 PM »
Hi Sarah and All'

my first time posting here, but first off, I want to tell you that your site is the best i have found to date, dealing with dermarolling. I have learnt so much here. So thanks so much Sarah!

I am interested in ordering several of your items, one of them being the single needles that you offer. I feel that the single needling will work very well for me. I want to improve my acne scarring, and also improve in general the texture of my skin, which I hear dermarollng can achieve.

Now with the single needles, i am not sure how will i know how deep to prick the skin with it?

Is there a stopper on it??? I dont want to go deeper than a 1mm for now.

I did read your top post about adjusting the single needle with a toothpic, but I must be missing something.

How will i be able to stop the single needle penetrating deeper than 1mm???? I do have sensitive skin

Thanks again
