Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Evenly Spread Acne Scars

"Thank you Sarah. I've started Rolling 4 months ago and can already see a difference. Below are 4 month progress pictures before and after"

Thanks for the inspiring pictures. You have an incredible improvement. In fact you look like a male model in the second picture. Good job!

Sarah, I recently posted a link in another thread about a device that can be used to remove poison or used on scars to lift the tissue. The device sounds promising but it only comes as part of a kit with many other suction cups. I'm only interested in purchasing this device and one suction cup to go with it. Would you consider selling something like this?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Dermarolling session duration

Thanks for your reply Sarah. Rolling vertically and horizontally is actually easier than the angle required in the star pattern.

I have been using the star pattern since I started rolling. I don't remember reading to avoid the star pattern. Is using this pattern bad for the skin?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Dermarolling for thinning hair
« on: July 04, 2012, 11:23:25 PM »
An easy way to get the blood flowing into the scalp without need of gadgets is to simply bend over at the waist and hang your head slightly down. Use the palms of your hands to gently manipulate the scalp without pulling the hair. I do this for about three minutes every night before going to bed.

This really gets the blood flowing into your head (and all the nutrients in the bloodstream). Doing this also loosens a tight scalp and feels really good.

You've had seven 1.5 mm dermaroller treatments and you haven't seen any improvement? How far apart are you spacing treatments. If you have them too often with that length of roller it can damage your skin.

I was on another forum and they mentioned these silicone suction cups. You only have to squeeze the cups to create suction. Looks interesting and they're only $25.00 plus $15.00 shipping.

They say to move the cups around on moist or wet skin instead of keeping it in one place. This is supposed to prevent the red marks that can happen when skin is suctioned.  Reading what they say makes me more confident that it's not harmful to stretch facial skin. I haven't tried cupping yet because I was afraid the stretched skin would stay loose. These cups are made especially for the face.

Here's the link. https://http://www.ib3health.com/products/SuctionCupping/SiliconeFacialCup.asp

They have another cup set and they have a special pump for scars. This creates a large amount of pressure to draw skin up. I think this one sounds very interesting since it's made especially for use on scars.

Because I have sensitive skin, I am looking forward to using sarahs smaller needle dermastamps, when they come out.

Are you using the dermastamp for acne scars???

My main reason for using the dermastamp, as compared to the dermaroller is to avoid getting the dreaded trackmarks, that I have heard some users can get.

Do u think its because they pressed too hard with the dermaroller?

Cant find much on the net, of trackmarks using a dermastamp, as compared to a dermaroller

Thanks again, for your kind post.

You're welcome :)

Yes I'm using the dermastamp for acne scars. I also use it under my eyes to induce more collagen in the skin. I've even used it on the back of my elbows right by the  bone to thicken the skin there. And that skin is VERY sensitive and I was able to stamp away without a problem. Even contemplating doing this with the dermaroller sends me running the other way.

The dermaroller sometimes leaves a few track marks. Most of the time I don't get any. Not sure why. But the good news is that the track marks ( which really only look like little purple or red dots) only last a very short time before they go away. On me this is usually the next day or so. It's really not that bad since the dots only stay for a short time. And really, what is so bad about a few trackmarks for a few days compared to having to live with acne scars for years?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Acne scar improvment photos
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:40:46 PM »
This is not my photos but I found them on a website where doctors post pictures to show how they improved acne scars with various methods. Most of the doctors used lasers or fillers, however this doctor used medical rolling to improve the scars. I thought the results were much better than many obtained by using lasers. It is also very encouraging to see this extent of scars so successfully treated.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Sarah, Dermastamp Advice Please?
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:17:50 PM »
Swan,  I have the 1.5 dermastamp and it doesn't hurt at all. I was really surprised because the 1.5 dermaroller is pretty painful to use. I braced myself for the pain the first time I used the stamp and was extremely pleasantly surprised when there was no pain at all. I don't know why that is, maybe because the needles go in vertically and there is no rolling involved that can stretch and tear the skin. At any rate just wanted to let you know that there is no reason to be afraid of using the 1.5 stamp. It is very mild really. Not like the roller at all.

Using a suction device to get rid of acne scar tethering is something I might want to try. The only problem is that it sounds really scary. Can you damage your skin by doing this? I've seen pictures of glass cupping were the skin inside the cup swelled up like a balloon. How high does the skin go up using a wine bottle vacuum? Is it possible to overstretch the skin?

This certainly seems like a cheap way to do home treatments in conjunction with using the dermastamp, roller and single needle. The only concern is that it would lead to loose flabby skin in the suctioned area. Anyone have opinions on this?

I'm not a nutritionist or doctor but it sounds to me like you have a severe protein deficiency. If all you eat are carbs and you have cut out meat then were are you getting your protein from? Every cell in the body needs plenty of protein to function properly. Without enough protein your body cells can't grow properly. A multivitamin/mineral supplement might also be beneficial. And definitely take an Omega 3 supplement. It keeps the skin cells moist and healthy. Olive oil is good for this too.

I'm vegetarian and make sure I get enough protein by eating lots of beans and taking whey protein powder every day.

Here's a list of some of the symptoms of protein deficiency:

    * Edema (swelling)

    * Thinning brittle hair and/or hair loss

    * Ridges in finger and toe nails

    * Skin rashes; dry skin

    * Weak and tired

    * Muscle soreness and cramps

    * Slow healing

    * Skin ulcers

    * Sleep issues

    * Headache

    * Nausea

    * Fainting

    * Depression/anxiety

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Copper peptides / SRCPs- my experience
« on: November 17, 2011, 02:21:04 AM »
I too had been using SB copper peptides for several years. I never noticed a difference either. I do like their Exfol serum though. That is great for skin exfoliation. Funny you should say that about the frequent posters on the SB forum. I was thinking exactly the same thing. Especially the latest poster who is on there at all hours and has established himself as a real expert. He answers seemingly all questions with detailed explanations of procedures and products like that was his job.

Thanks again both soon and Sarah. This is really helpful. Finally I know

what these round white growths are.
